@ JohnU
Hi John. I have thought about releasing something like this in the past, but after reading some of the comments on this site, I feel I would have to spend too much time justifying it to other people.

I didn't keep any records in previous seasons, and I did have some long losing runs. Over the course of a season, however, I always ended up in profit.

You've been around a bit mate, you know how it is with "acca's," you can hit 2 or 3 good payers in a month, then go a month with nothing. I tend to do them more for interest, and obviously the opportunity to hopefully put an extra "few bob" in the sky rocket.

This season I will be keeping a spreadsheet. I generally wait until mid Sept' to start doing the bets, it lets a bit of form start to show.

There really is no special method I use to make my selections, other than form and stat's, and anyone can do that. At the moment, I'm 0/3 but hoping things change pretty soon ;-)

My take on gambling systems or business opportunities is "suck it and see". Like your good self, I have "invested" in quite a few opportunities over the years. The overwhelming majority have been not for me, with one or two, that with some tweaking, have turned out ok for a while, before running out of steam. One was a traditional business, which after 4+ years of toil, I sold on to my business partners for quite a nice sum ;-)

I'm in the process of working a horse racing system that was reviewed here. It cost me buttons, and the reviewer slated it (probably rightly), but experimenting with it (there probably isn't much of the original system left), I have been picking up a steady profit from it.

Like yourself, I want to give this a proper "run out" to see if there is any mileage in it. I am actually using it with real money too, it concentrates the mind better than a paper bank!!! Today was crap though, mainly because I got held up this morning and ended up rushing through the selections, but since the 5/9/11, I have done 7 days of racing, and the bank is currently up 17.06% (it was at 27.06% until today):-( But in this game, you have to allow for those situations, and I won't be making that mistake again.

I do follow the LDB thread, amongst others, and it's very interesting reading.

@ nutmeg
Yeah, I think your right there, his anti post bets probably bumped the overall ROI into the black. I did get on Dortmund though, enjoyed that one. Only a tenner, but £220 came in very handy, thank you.

If you are doing better with your own, why not get them 'Proofed' with a good proofing service and after say this season you may well have a 'viable product' that could form a joint venture with the likes of Agora, Canonbury, or some other publishers.

Keep up the good work - anything profitable over 12 months is better than 99 % of the Crap out there! I am doing something similar on the horses.(See my reference on Legendary Daily Banker recently) and its making 20 % ROI - but i won't entertain releasing selections until its had 12 months of profitability on Paper. Best of luck - you never know!

So far this season we have 3 winning weeks (profit) out of 4 so its going well so far even though the profits arent that big because the odds are terrible but its the same for most football bets unless you go for accumulators or massive underdogs

I trialled this out over last season, it was profitable, but not a great deal so, certainly not worth the subscription. I done better with my own selections.
Stick to doing your own 3-5 game acca's, looking for around 7/1 to 18/1 payouts and over the season you'll do just fine.

I'm sooooo glad I read this lot, I had intended buying the LPA next week. I've been reading the pitch on The Shortcut Bulletin newsletter for ages and it really did seem like a great deal.

Obviously there's no chance of them getting any money out of me now. What an utter waste of time and money.

Thanks guys!
